Happy Halloween - pumpkin season...

Devon Food Photography - www.seaAitch-photography.com
Happy Halloween to everyone enjoying the seasonal celebrations this weekend...

""Trick-or-treating is a customary celebration for children on Halloween. Children go in costume from house to house, asking for treats such as candy or sometimes money, with the question, "Trick or treat?" The word "trick" refers to a (mostly idle) "threat" to perform mischief on the homeowners or their property if no treat is given. In this custom the child performs some sort of trick, i.e. sings a song or tells a ghost story, to earn their treats.""

Recipe idea -

Perfect for autumn when pumpkin is in season, this classic American recipe calls for fresh pumpkin rather than tinned. Sure to be a family favourite...

Photographing Quince this week in the studio, tasted great - first time to try this Autumnal fruit...
The fruit is edbile when cooked, but the tree is also grown for its attractive pale pink blossom and other ornamental qualities

Great recipe to try -
Quince and filo croustades with pistachio kulfi and agave coconut sorbet:

Proof is in the pudding - Cardiff Food Photography

Food Photography Cardiff By Craig Howarth
I have been working closely with Zucchero Patisserie on photographing their range of stunning desserts . All the photography was taken at their workshops in Miskin near Cardiff.

We will be working together soon on their new Winter dessert menu, the cakes looks stunning but taste even better, I'm looking forward to seeing the new range already!

Please click here to see Online Brochure I designed & created for Zucchero.

"The pics look fantastic I'm absolutely thrilled with them, they really show off our products. You have captured the natural simplicity, artisan and bespoke indulgent finish that we want to communicate to our clients."

Today I have been shooting pears and figs for my portfolio & stock work. Looking at creating daylight but using flash lighting.

Daylight gives that softness that compliments fruit and vegetables so much, so its important to obtain this effect with flash.

I decided on the wooden background and hessian to create the rustic look.

Now for some cheese and a healthy snack is well deserved!!!

I have been busy with my welsh connections in the last week, shooting a range of new relishes for Welsh company Sarn Helen. The brand identity and art direction for the images was by www.artsfactorydesign.co.uk.

I created a range of styles for these images using dramatic lighting and different backgrounds and textures to create the impression that the relish is jumping out from the image...
